2001 RS sprint won,t run
I am working on a 2001 Rs sprint. Will start but once it reaches around 50/53 deg the engine misfires, runs on only 1 or 2 cylinders & then stops. As the temperature was a common denominator with the fault I though it to be electrical. I have replaced all the sensors, Tried a couple of ECU's off other rs's & as a last resort replaced the wiring harness.Still has same problem. Maybe it is not electrical & it is just that the time it takes for the engine to warm before some sort of fuel crisis hits.Has anyone had this problem. Exhausted!!!!

Are you going through the steps to verify which requirement such as fuel, ignition, and compression is not happening?

Tried looking at the stored fault codes in the ECU?
Maybe the coils are bad?

Are you riding it, THEN it misfires and stops......or is it just idling on the stand????
Can you ( very carefully) feel which cylinder ( use a thick rag, or a very thick oven glove, and touch each downpipe......for a SPLIT second!!!!!! BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL, YOU CAN GET BURNT) you should be able to feel which one is colder than the others, that's the one thats misfiring.
Then you can check the plug /cap/ etc maybe it needs cleaning or a new plug...or maybe it's had the dreaded " water in the spark plug well" and corroded one plug.........yes, this does happen with the Sprint's...

I like to use a spray bottle full of water for this. Much harder to get burnt!
Cheers,
