Trouble loading tune.... 2006 Sprint ST

I took my bike in to the local dealer. I installed a TOR muffler that I sourced here on this board (thanks womcat!). I asked the dealer to load the right tune and they got one tune loaded and then attempted to load a second one when things went to hell. In the middle of the upload there was a communications error. Now the bike won't start and won't respond when connected to the handheld computer from Triumph. All the connections are good, the fuses have been seated. This happened late of a Friday so my bike is still in their shop. In the meantime the dealership provided me with a Tiger Demo bike.

Any suggestions that this group has are welcome, if there is some nugget of information that I could pass along to the dealership I will.

I would also like to say the Mike Tingley's dealership in Missoula has handled this situation very well and too my satisfaction. I like the place when I first looked at the bike, Mike and his staff are the kind of people that I like to do business with, they are honest and take care of their customers. They get my highest recommendation.

There is a recovery procedure to follow. It is different than the standard download procedure. This is true of the Triumph tool as well as TuneBoy.

Page 10.56 of the Triumph service manual. Paragraph 43 titled "Restarting Tune Download".

*************But wait, there's more******************

The difference between the two methods is that the standard method only updates the tune tables and a few constants.

The recovery download re-installs the entire operating system, including the loader for the tune tables. While it does this a base map is loaded to the ECU which is not customized for your bike.

Following the recovery download you still have to use the standard download method and load the tables (tune) you want in the bike.
