How an you tell a rim is clear coated vs powder coated from a forum picture? Have you considered that it could be a clear powder coat over the base color.....or maybe not?

I would hope that it is clear powder coat otherwise it's not going to be pretty very long.......

Here are some photos of an ST that was on fleabay a while back. I think gold looks good.

Also painting the hugger is an improvement IMO.

Nice!

I sure do like that look! That bike has a bunch of really nice farkles all over it if you look hard enough...

Is that at California BMW/Triumph?
It would also be interesting to know if that's a pre-owned machine or new ('07 leftover) with a bunch of dealer installed goodies.

IMO, the gold rims look nicer than the blue ones. But then, I've always been attracted to bright, shiny objects.

You beat me to it! I really like the silver and would go a touch lighter. I would also like to see the frame in silver as well. I think if I am going to go through all that trouble I will just get the 2008 S3 rims. Good job Kory. Blue or Silver - they look good. Nothing like taking your bike to the next step of unique.

yikes!!! easy on the photoshop guys!!!
green wheels on blue is a stinkaroo. I was just scrolling up waiting for the pink on purple to come up and burn my retinas out.

I like the original blue on blue pict....
so has anyone ever chromed them? too farkley probably huh.

just wondering....

I find this bike such a classy looking bike that sometimes its better left alone. the blue and red ones are more sportier looking than the silver. I find the silver much more Aston martin-ish. classy fast look....
so yeahhhhh... gues I'm trying to say I dont want to see DUB 24" spinners on a Aston martin DB9 either.

oh.. I was worried about it with my spicy tridents but luckliy I liked it. DOH!

I did not like the black rims on my '05 so I had them powdercoated along with a few other bits. Like they say, to each his own.
