Question What warranty claims did you do?

It would be interesting to know for what warranty repairs / claims your Sprint went back to the dealer. Please state the year / model as well.

Reason is that a lot of small bugs can be sorted out before it actually becomes a big problem.

03 RS Sprint.

No Warranty work done, none required since either. The fuel fittings were changed over before I bought the bike.

07 Sprint. Just a screen due to the black bubbling.

Now have 51,000kms up.

At first service fuel connector recall to male fuel connectors changed from plastic to metal.

I think it was at the 10,000kms service I had the Carbon Fibre race can replaced under warranty. Leaking at front flange where carbon meets the stainless steel. This was a common problem at the time.

Triumph Australia offered either a CF replacement can FOC or a new SS race can also FOC, the reason was they were having continuing problems at the time with the CF cans and could not guarantee a replacement would not have the same fault, several owners had two or three replacement CF cans around this time.

I chose the SS race can even though it is a lot heavier it was replaced while I waited and completely free of charge. (approx $1000 AUD fitted and with off road tune uploaded)

I also had a faulty speedo sender unit, replaced FOC ($405 AUD)

That's it.

The bike is just on 15 months old now, and 23500 km. One warranty claim being a replacement screen, since the old started to bubble.

Cheers,

2006 ABS--

Black paint bubbling on screen----yet to be done at dealer

Left-side fairing replaced----due to mis-routed fuel overflow tube that caused paint removal on lower edge of fairing were the tube was exiting instead of underneath the fairing edge

Safety recall done for the drag link bolt.

I have not talked to the dealer yet, but I have a couple of paint bubbles showing up on my tank (plastic tank). I have heard of a couple of other members here with the same problem that got it replaced under warranty, so, hope it bodes well for me too.

Safety recall on drag bold was done when I purchased the bike.
At 10,000 miles I had the valve stem seals replaced due to oil loss. Took 2.5 weeks to get the bike back Won't know if this corrected the problem for another 2000 miles.

'07 Black Sprint ST

Draglink replaced prior to me taking delivery in Jan '07

18500Km/11500Mi Melted piston rings & damaged pistons & cylinder liners (this is a 'Known Issue' with the 955/1050 mill...) one guy i spoke to never even made it to 2500Mi!?
The replacement of pistons, rings & liners has been approved, but i am in discussions with Triumph Australia to have the Head/Valvetrain & Injectors checked & replaced if required, I also want the bottom end checked as some of the ring material must have made it's way down there...

Cheers, G

06 Sprint. Needed a new seat because little pieces started to come off. I also should have gotten a battery strap free, but I paid for one not thinking about it being covered.
