Dude, its really hard to offer any advice if you don't give any details. We have no idea what bike you are on, much less the extent of the damage you are talking about or where it is. If you are talking about a Sprint the earlier ST and RSs have different swing arm setups (ST is on the opposite side to the exhaust anyway) and the 2005 onwards models have underseat exhausts. Send a picture, tell us the model and we may be able to help.

I'm not sure everyone knows what the IOM is either.

I'm sure you will find the right answer here if you ask the right questions. Good luck.

I can help with some translation - I think he is saying that he is going to the Isle Of Man, probably for the TT meet in 3 weeks time.

I love how the Durham guy translates for the Scot. I was born in Canada but all the Brits in my family are from Durham and they have a heavy northern accent. Translating for Scots is a natural function for the Northerners. The odd thing is my wifes family is from Liverpool so the conversations are lost on most of us with a neutral accent. LOL.

Back on track, I have never heard of a muffler/pipe munching away at a swing arm. Post some pics?

Other Motorcycle: I wish
news to me

I havent heard of that on this board in the last three years.

That sounds pretty drastic onefut, can you tell us which exhaust you have?

Is it by any chance the black Carbon Fibre race can?

There is a reason I ask this.

For you other guys I can tell from his accent in his post onefut is not a Scot he just lives there.

My Dad is a Scot my Mum was Irish so I can pick these things a mile off on the web.
Isn't that right onefut?

The only time i have seen the exhaust mark the swing arm is when its been bent in as a result of the bike falling over.
