I keep a E52 topbox on my '01 most of the time for commuting, as others have said its a great secure, dry storage for cold/wet gear, laptops, etc. I comute over 200 miles per day and wouldnt be with out it. The E52 is a little large and I did manage to overload it when it was used on my Trophy to the point of breaking a weld on the tail frame, did you know that an E52 will hold a case and a half of beer and two bags of ice (kids dont try that at home, Im a professional). Ive learned my lesson and have kept the loads within reason on the sprint and todate, no problems. I installed an SW Motech rack http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade...tview/246/145/ and with the adaptor plate for the GIVI the box pops on and off in an instant, you can also remove the adaptor plate with a screwdriver and the bike looks stocker again.

Kory, I like to think of the topbox on my ST as a tribute to the Air Force, I refer to it as the "AWAC" look.

So... are there any issues in fitting the Givi FZ726 Monorack to a 1050 Sprint that already has the factory sidebags?

Hard to tell from the picture...

Obviously, the SW Mototech unit doesn't have issues...

Should you get one? I think it depends what you're going to use it for. All the above posters have good reasons why or why not for having one or not. I just did a 4,000 mile trip with good results with a tail bag that cost $55 and is probably just as spacious as a top box. If you're only going to tour once in a great while, there is plenty of soft luggage available that works. It will do for commuting also but it probably won't lock. If you plan on touring a lot or two-up, then you'd need it. However, if I needed a top box only for commuting, I'd probably own a different bike.
