You just need to speed up for the buzzing to go away!

I didn't realize the machine was so new. When it was new mine had a bit of a buzz that was more pronounced when the revs were higher. As the engine became more broken in those vibrations subsided. Or I just got used to them. Who knows? Just ride it for now, I would be willing to bet it will smooth out with use.

Mine only buzzes when I'm going trans-sonic. But I also get control reversal and a slight helmet lifting in this area too.

Is the buzz felt at a certain engine speeds { RPM} or at a certain MPH road speeds. Or is it consistant at all engine and road speeds?

Sorry to jump on the band wagon but I've been getting "white hand" since picking up my 06 two weeks ago. It is engine related as it goes away when I pull in the clutch at any speed. Mine is throughout the rev's.

Changed the oil and adjusted the chain last week and it didn't help.

Hi Mate

I'm not sure TBH. I'm still running her in so I'm up and down the box and rev range like a good 'un. Having listened to other people on the topic, I'm going to put some more miles on and see what happens.

Thanks everyone for your input.

Cheers
Kav

I have also noticed the same buzzing on my 05 Sprint that goes away when the clutch is disengaged at speed. While pulling clutch in I have brought RPM back up to around 4K and buzz returns. Seams either motor or trans related in my case. One thing I have noticed is when bike is sitting still idling I can hear a quiet rumble coming from the transmission that goes away when I pull the clutch lever in. Possibly a bearing problem or normal gear mesh. I'm planning to do a search related to transmission noise to determine what is normal. My bike has 4500 miles.

Mine does the exact same thing re: the rumble when the clutch is disengaged. I believe this is normal, but could be wrong. Definitely post back if you find something worth while. Thanks

Clutch Engaged/Disengaged Noises

One man's rumble is another's drone, is another's hum, is another's rattle, is another's....well you get the idea.

I don't know if the noises being referred to are all the same, but this is one method of eliminating a possible cause.

First,I need to apologize for not doing a PDF display, but hopefully my words will suffice for the appropriate audience.

When you squeeze the clutch lever, the cable actuates the clutch lifter arm, which in turn actuates the internal lifter piece which then moves the pressure plate. The lifter piece rides in a bearing which is central to the pressure plate.

All manufacturers have machining and assembly +/- tolerances. Sometimes an accumulation of tolerances can affect operations. In the clutch scenario there are several tolerances which may/may not affect its quiet operation.
  • The lifter piece bearing bore in the pressure plate.
  • The five pressure plate attach bolt bores.
  • The lifter piece.
Anyone reassembling a clutch pack should know that they are supposed to verify that the lifter piece is free and does not bind in the pressure plate bearing.

Since the pressure plate has five attach bolts, there are five possible orientations. The significance of this is, due to the accumulation of tolerances, there is one location out of the five that will provide the best alignment of the bearing to the lifter piece. This best alignment will allow the quietest clutch operation.

If this seems familiar to the astute members, it is because it has been posted before.

Mine buzzes and you can feel it in the grips and a little in the pegs.
Unless yours is an out of time vibe and not a smooth steady fast one I wouldn't worry too much.

It's just a three cylinder motor in a frame transferring it's vibrations to the rest of the bike.
My old 650 bonneville, now that was some vibration, good lord.
