Who has one? What is it made out of, stainless steal or aluminum? How do you like it?

Thanks in advance for any info,
Allen

Hi mate,
aluminium I think (not really sure about that). They are of much heavier construction than other brands with a full frame on the outside edge which is fine on a Sprint but not so good on a naked bike like the S3.

This is on my 2004 955i Sprint ST.

Like It!

G'Day,

I have one - got it once I'd put a deposit on my Sprint (after I discovered the cost of a replacement radiator!).

I believe it's aluminium but check the website http://www.radguard.com.au/index.php?main_page=index

I got the kit including the "V" piece. Intallation took about 1.5 hrs, but that was also the first time I'd had to figure out how to remove the fairing.

Installation was relatively painless. Peace of mind is priceless! Inspecting the unit today, I note a number of small nicks in the guard - dunno whether any of these would have translated into damage to the radiator, but it's good to know it's doing it's job anyways.

Highly recommend it.

Cheers,

Neil

Saved Rad

Mine has saved my radiator and oil cooler at least twice from large rocks that have dented the guard but not touched the cooling units.

I also installed mine when my bike was new and it was very simple on the 955.

+1 on making your own! That is my next project, as soon as I find the right material to use.....
