Hi There - Red N Ready 4 How Long ??
G'day folks - been away again for a while - moved house, busy with work, etc, etc.. The 2002 red Sprint is still running perfect - now with 62,000 klm and feels and looks better than new..
I did see a 2008 ( I think ) Red 1050 that did look really NICE.. and I was tempted. My lady was not that impressed with the pillion seating though - she says the distance and height between us would be too great and she would not feel "connected" as we ripped thru the bends. She tucks in really tight when we push hard and I must admitt ( with me being a light weight @ 75 kgs - 165 lbs ) the handling offen feels better with her on the back..
Leads me to a question I've raised before - who out there on the 02 - 04 has done the most milage ( kilometerage ?? ) as I may end up keeping the 02 for a very long time. Do they ever wear out ?? Are there any long term maintainence issues - tips.
Take care ....

Lots to go yet.
Hello Harry;
I put over 90,000 km on my '02 Sprint ST before I sold it to get my new '07.
It was still running very sweetly at that time, and still is going strong over 105000 km, according to the new owner.
Apart from getting it serviced by someone who knew what they were doing, I had the cam chain replaced at 70,000 km as a preventative measure, and I had the suspension redone by ProMecha at the same time.
That is basically it - nothing broke, wore out inappropriately or misbehaved in any way.
Cheers,

Hi Buddy
Nice to see you again Harry.
I have only 51,000kms on my '04 Sprint ST still runs like a top. But I need to do chain, sprockets and cush drive this coming week. My cush drive is flogged and so is the chain, sprockets are not bad but I will do the set anyway.
cheers,
DaveM

Hello Harry - I only rarely take a pillion - and they have no complaints, but then they do not ride very far with me, so what may be fine for 50 km, may be woeful at 250 km.
Cheers,

G'day guys
Hey Dave -
Long time between beers, I'll be up in about mid May for a few days - MUST catch up.
Speaking of chains n sprockets - on my second set since 30,000 klm n they are not worn, chain has no tight spots ( well very, very minimal, few mm ) and the sprockets are still good - and I do push it a bit 2 up.. Aint they great !!!
