Smile I'm Going Across America!

Hi Folks,

My father and I are leaving from North Carolina on Sunday, May 11, for a 7,000-mile, 29-day, across America trip.

Of course, I'm riding a 2006 Sprint ST. My father is riding a 2008 BMW 1200RT.

I've got a blog, if anyone cares to follow.

http://cvdavis.blogspot.com

Cheers.

That means you should be able to stop by the Triumph Bash in Vermont. We will plan on seeing you there.

Well, that sounds like a grand adventure. You're both riding excellent motorcycles for that type of trip. I'll check in with your blog from time to time to see how you and Pop are progressing.

Best wishes, good riding and keep the shiny side up.

Sticking to I-40

Are you planning on staying on I-40? I noticed on the third day you're going from Nashville to Searcy, AR. Doing so means you have to get off I-40 for a while, and then get back on at Little Rock to go to Shawnee, OK. Just wondering. Searcy isn't exactly a "destination city" from what I've seen of it.

If you come through Asheville anytime around lunch let me know and I'll meet you at the best bar-b-que shack in NC. Good Luck

I see you will be in Shawnee, OK on May 14th. My house is just one mile off of I-40 in Shawnee. If you are willing, you are more than welcome to kick back at the house and maybe get a good home cooked meal. I ride a Sprint RS, and my buddy that has taught me a lot about long distance riding also rides a BMW 1200RT. What a coincedence.

I would be glad to visit with you about your trip when you get into town.
