Hello all! I have built a custom chopper themed after the Ferarri Formula One Car and used a Speed Triple Engine. The chopper is almost done but I have run into a problem. Since I have not used so much stuff i.e. gauge cluster etc. the computer is not cooperating and have no power to engine, starter etc. therfore engine will not start.
I think I'm going to need to convert engine and delete computer, fuel injection and ignition. So I need to conver to carbs and own ignition, but this is where I need help. Has anybody done this, I have heard of one racer named James Lickman but have not been able to find him. Does anybody know him or know how to accomplish this feet!
Thanx!

You could check with a company called Electromotive. They make a stand alone Ignition/fuel injection control system that is universal and can be programed with any standard PC. Their products are Top Shelf not mickey mouse junk. For what it might cost you to convert this may be a better deal.
Electromotive
You might also try contacting Wayne Macdonald who makes the Tune Boy/Tune Edit products. If anyone can tell you which wires you musk keep and which ones you can delete, he can.

Hi Triple,
If you don't have any starter juice it sounds like the clutch or kickstand safety switch connectors are still open. Get a service manual for the year of the ECM and close those loops.
The instrumentation should not have anything to do with it if all the sensors are set up and the safety loops are in their correct states
Hope this helps.
POST SOME PICS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please.

I have bypassed all the safety switches and now have power thru the starting system, computer etc, but there is no spark and even though the fuel pump has 11.88 volts going to it, it does not work. If I plug it in direct to the battery it does work. Confused!!!!

Try wiring in everythin you eliminated to see if the system works; then start deleting items until it stops.

Hi Triplechopper,
Is there an oil pressure cut off loop in the module? No spark and no fuel makes me think there is a engine cutoff fault somewhere. Is the engine grounded well to the rest of the bike?
Hope this helps

All I bypassed was the kill switch, clutch switch, side stand switch and relocated the start button. I have power everywhere, even to the coils, but no fire! I emailed pictures to the webmaster for posting. I'm getting really frustrated, it is done and I can't ride it, I know waaaaaaaaaa! Thanks for all the suggestions everybody.

What year is the engine? My 2002 (and up) RS has a 'Fall Detection Switch' as well. Item #29 in the Service manual. It is wired into the Ignition relay item #52.
