Hi all
After having soughted out the new Trident exhaust fitting to my bike (at 3am) I had the strongest urge to take the girl for a ride to hear the new sound of my wonderful machine. Now you have to understand I've been serving overseas for the last 3 months and am currently on a 10 day break from service. I work in a country that rarely sees a motorbike let alone a scooter. Lucky for me this website and magazines have been keeping me going. Any way jobs done pipes on looks great and its 3.45am. So I do the respectful thing and jump back into bed only to be fully awake and smiling on a successful job. Stuff it i think, so i throw my gear on and was just to sneak out the door and my 9 month old son wakes up. Drats busted. The wifes awake wondering what I'm doing dressed at 4am. told her the story about my success. She smiles and says make your son a bottle change him and be careful on your ride. **** I love that woman, how better can you get it. So I place he boy back to bed and my 4 yr old gets up wondering what i'm doing i told him I'm going for a ride and i will be back soon. So I put him in our bed give him a kiss and he says have a good ride Dad see you in the morning. Now I'm already on top the world with such a loving family. So I go to the garage fully kit up and wheel the bike out to the road, I sit on her and start to fire her up, without any hesitation she start (so does my smile again) I let her warm up a little and we take off. This is fantastic she purzzzzz ever so beautifully. For the next one and a half ours we cruize around lost in our own mind and comfort of riding, man and machine in tune enjoying road breezes at a steady pace. Sadly enough I thought I'd better do the righty and head home (could have gone all day I reckon). So i park her back in the garage, thank her for the ride and for being so reliable and i am now telling you peoples out there about it. Any way just wanted to share a good story on this forum for people to enjoy. Just wanted to thank Wolf for the pipe and thanks to my family for being so understanding of my ways. Hope eveyone has a good day and stays upright cos the start of mine has been fantastic.

Cheers

Great post! I too am a father or three and my wife 2B has one as well. I too have a very understanding wife when it comes to riding and I too feel the guilt when I am gone all day so I keep my rides balanced and my wife2B never complains. As a matter of fact she encourages it. She understands that it is a form of therapy for me.

Loved the story and it is great to read something that doesnt include "my bike wont start".

Yes!
I really appreciated his positive attitude. Anyone that says the younger generation is going to the dogs just hasn't met him or his family.

I just can't figure out what country rarely sees a motorbike, let alone a scooter. Unless it is..........

Trigger11, It would be good if you could keep in touch with us occasionaly once there?

Great post Trigger11. I know the warm and fuzzy feeling that my Triumph gives me oh too well.

I too get the guilts when out and rarely get to go on extended rides because of it. :(

Thank you my fellow Triumph contributors.
I'm ever so glad you liked my story and thank you all for your kind words. I will endeavour to stay in touch when I return to service in 8 more days. I do have access to a computer every day and will stay in touch as much as I can. I don't have to much on technical advice for bikes but as I read through this forum I seem to learn more and more every day. It is such a joy to have like minded Triumph enthusiast to talk with and learn from. I hope whilst I serve the next 3 months that more riders tell of there adventures as it takes me away from the daily grind of my job.
I thank and applaud you all for this website.

Cheers
