Knocking Noise When Pulling Off

I have a 05 1050 Sprint with 10500 miles on the clock. When pulling off from a standing start, I am getting what I can only describe as a clonk from what seems like the chain. I have had a look at the sprockets, and there appears to be a little wear on the rear one, the front looks fine, and the chain seems to be within the specs. Seems a little early to me for these items to be reaching there limits. Has anyone had the same problem? Gonna try and get it to the local dealer and see what they think.

Are you asking if anyone else has had this problem, or are you maybe asking for possible causes?

noise???

I finally got my new ( to me) '06 out for a ride a little bit ago and I heard something similar.... I was hearing it from a stop a little, and both hearing and feeling it through the pegs whenever the pavement got a little bit scrubby ... I figured it was probably just the centerstand banging around... but now you have me worried too

Did you adjust the chain recently? If you spin the eccentric you will get the same problem.

Chain or valvetrain. Your valves will clatter if you have low octane fuel, they need adjustment or if you are running in the wrong gear with to low or rpms for it.

Chain adjustment as others have noted.

Love the sense of humour. Left myself wide open for that one. OnD asking both really. Had a closer look at the sprockets and if there is wear it is very minimal.
I have not adjusted the chain for a while as it did not seem to be out of spec. I always have it on the loose side. Gonna tighten it up a little and see if that will eliminate the problem. I was concerned that it might be something more sinister. Ever the optamist!!
The noise is coming from the chain area, I am sure it is not coming from the valve train.
