Installing TBR Slip On
This installation seems simple enough, but before I got too far down the line, I thought I'd ask you guys...just got a TBR Slip On exhaust for my '01...I am doing the standard mount...I thought I had it down...but they include some fittings called their V.A.L.E system...but no real instructions for the Sprint...I am assuming that I can use this rather than the supplied hi-heat silicone to connect the slip on to the s-pipe. Instructions are install the slip on directly to the s-pipe.
Have any of you installed the VALE?
Thanks as always

The Vale system is a tuneable pipe. it installs in the end cap to quiet down the pipe if you wish. 3 db I believe. You will still be mounting the main pipe assembly as any other TBR pipe, with the silicone sealant as well.

Thanks for the advice...I've PM'd him...but I thinkI know what the issue is...I don't think it is meant to be mounted to a ST with panniers...looks like it would slide into place perfectly if I took the brackets off...really not an option for me since I commute a lot on it and take a few long weekenders...
If anyone out there has any thoughts I'd appreciate it...hate to have blown $330...

Isnt there a high mount and a low mount with the STs? The low mount is for a bike with panniers is it not?

That was certainly my thought process...the clamp seems to be about an inch too short...I could probably have one of the guys at work weld up a bracket for me, but I'd rather not.

Are you talking about the bracket that comes with the panniers to lower the stock muffler? Is that bracket not positioned properly to drop the tbr exhaust enough to fit the panniers?

Hey Panther...I knew you bought the high pipe...the pipe I'm replacing is a D&D that was getting pretty trashed...it was mounted to the rear peg bracket...maybe I'm missing a piece that was at the pannier bracket?

You must be missing something because the earlier sprints had a high mount and a low mount to accomadate the panniers so there must be a bracket that is missing. Look on bike bandit and see.
