pulling the trigger on an 06 monday

hey guys I might be buying an ABS model monday afternoon. 6800 miles, abs, heated grips, gel seat, hardbags. looked pretty good over the pics, going to see it in person tomorrow. guy has the title, so this might get wrapped up quick. a few questions. is there anything i should look for other than the usual used bike stuff on the sprint? im still new here, and dont have the knowledge of the sprint like oldNdumb and others. and what would be the most you would give for an 06, he said his highest offer so far has been 6700, and he turned it down. i was thinking 7000 since it is ABS, even though im not a fan of ABS. but this bike is close to me (in town). seems "meant to be" LOL. i just hope it has not been wrecked, and they are trying to hide it. guy has the bike at his body shop?????????? and can i run the VIN through the local triumph deler and find anything out about it? thanks all. hopefully soon a sprint owner.

You can go to the Triumph official web site and input the VIN to see if there are any outstanding applicable recalls against it.

There is a web site that does a title search for a fee. I can not remember what it is, but I feel sure someone will come up with it. It will give all of the registration and title info, including if it was salvaged. Everything might be ok with it, but I am leery of bodyshop resales.

I wasn't too hip on the ABS, but I really have grown to appreciate it over time

he said he is selling it for his brother, who now lives in new york city. that he is just keeping the bike at his shop. the guy could be telling the truth, or he could have some ocean front property here in tennessee he wants to sale too. going to find out tomorrow. cant wait

Cant your registration/insurance company do a lean/accident search going off the VIN before you buy it? I dont know what the laws are in the US but in Canada you have to declare any damage over $2000.00.

it is the dark red, sunset red, whatever you call it. i like tornado red much more, but I cant complain. I bought a new Scorpion exo 700 helmet in the fury red a few months ago, to try and push me to get a tornado red sprint :P. Sick I know, but a man has to twist his own arm sometimes. At least it will not stick out as bad as it does on my indigo (purple) warrior LOL. the good thing about this, I get to keep the warrior, and "settle" for the sunset color. hopefully chicks dig the sunset red as much as the indigo warrior :P.

yes yes brother, i agree. but you have never seen the power an indigo warrior has when parked out at a bike night . last thursday, it pulled people away from 60,000 dollar choppers. to my dismay someone broke off one of my driving lights in the parking lot, when i was not around. Asshat jealousy. I would not doubt a bit, it being one of those guys that did it. Ball-less wonders. I like to say " it is not what brand of motorcycle you ride, but more the size of the arms that hold onto the handlebars" LOL I wish i could have caught the guy in the act.

You can do a title check through various online companies. I can't find my record, but I think I used autocheck.com. My report was $19.95 but was worth the peace of mind. Their site says they have a free check, but I don't know for sure if this is the one I used.

I remembered that it is cyclechex.com
