Integrated Tailights

I checked the search for "integrated tailights" and came up empty. Anyone replace their stock tailight with an integrated tailight and removing the rear blinkers on their 2006 Sprint ST? Some pics and advice on where to get these would be nice. Do they come in the clear lens style like the stock version? It would be the type that comes on fully red when braking, then flash on the left or right half of the lens when turning the blinks on for a turn indication. Thanks ahead to anyone who can help.

I think there is bunch of us that have done this.

Try Clear Alternatives

The install is pretty easy, just remove old light and bolt this one in place, and the kit included the resister to slow the blink rate down. Some guys use a LED relay, which is what I plan on changing to when I clean up the rear fender.

Illegal in California my friend... sorry.

The turn signals must be a minimum distance ( I'm sorry I don't know.. ) apart from one another.

That's all I know...

Here's my tail... just in case you're interested:

Kory......I'm curious. Do the LEOs in California actually spend time worrying about turn signal minimum distances? The reason I ask is because I have seen them in California on more than one occasion. In fact, the first one I saw was while on a trip to El segundo.

Maybe you have a state/local vehicle inspection program that I am not aware of?

Yes they do, and yes we do...

The cops hassle ricers ( modified hon-duhs ) and street bikers alot in SoCal. Not sure about NorCal...

They ticket for things like:

Non stock lighting ( IE turn signals and their color)

Loud Exhausts

So it's all about your area, if you think you can get away with it for a decent amount of time without getting a "Fix-it" ticket then more power to you!

I really wanted the integrated until I thought about visibility and local laws.

I'm happy with my arrow shaped turn signals, I think they compliment the bike well and as you could see they still allow the hard bags to fit.

By all means! Integrate your taillights... Don't give up just because I said it's illegal...

If you want to take your chances its up to you, it all depends on how strict the police are in your area.

Really illegal, or just something the cops say?

The police DON'T KNOW THE LAWs

I've had one get very pissed in court because he wrote me a ticket - that had no law behind it. Judge gave him 30 days to find a law - he swore he would - he never did. Didn't exist. He just didn't like what I did, and basically made up a law
