New body armor, yeah baby!

Hey gang, check out the new warm weather body armor I just ordered. Now I know this is designed for mountain biking but something is better than nothing...I used to be one of those Harley types that never wore a helmet at all in states that did not require it. On top of that during summer I would ride in a tank top, no long sleeves for me! The only saftey gear I was ever adamant about wearing were jeans/chaps and riding boots.
Times sure have changed now that I'm enjoying a comfortable full face helmet and jackets with body armor. But the problem remains that it gets very hot here but I want at least some type of protection, but my Joe Rocket mesh is still too hot to be practicle so I think this will be just the thing!!! tank top underneath, zip it on and go, yipee!!! Only $80 from sierra trading post and the real issue- it will actually fit me unlike the currently available men's body armor products on the market. This is a shorter version of the regular Six Six One pressure suit. Sierra also has the regular length on sale too. Check these out on their website: http://www.sixsixone.com/Catalog_661...B-5F478B7645A1
Again, I know these are MTB specific but I really don't see much difference between say the Alpinestars or Rocket products, and for way less money. My main objective being the fact any protection is better than none!

I'm all in favor of you or anyone wearing protective gear, but I'll bet you're going to find that this mountain biking gear is going to be even hotter to wear than your armored mesh jacket. Let us know how the experiment goes.

Personnelly I swear by this stuff http://www.impactarmor.com/
I`ve had it a couple of year now, had the custom sized stuff for back, front, knee and hips, and I`m considering upgrading the chest protector to add the Ab~wing

Be very careful with those armored jerseys, most are not designed to take the abrasion of an impact with asphalt. In a lowspeed get off they might be OK, they are used generally for of road riding, where speeds are lower and no asphalt. They are very good if you have a jacket(leather hopefully)over them for abrasion resistence.

As ooobaby stated it will probably be as warm as a mesh jacket. One thing that helps is if you wear an Underarmor type shirt underneath to wick away sweat. That's what I do when I where mine on my dirt bike and it makes a big difference in comfort.

I would think that the mesh jacket would have way better air flow and a lot more protection. My Alpinestars ACR mesh jacket feels like I am wearing a t-shirt. If it gets to the point where I am too hot in the mesh then I won't ride.
