Does anyone have these hyperlites and if so, do you approve of their usefullness? I do a fair amount of riding at night and use a Halo helmet band and strategically placed reflective tape, but would like to add more light out back.
Thx,
Kevin

Would not ride with out them. I have used Hyper lights. Tail Blazer, light buddy's. Just something to catch the attention of the cage behind me.

Never seen it in action, so cannot say, but although I trust it'll get you noticed I myself find that sort of attention grabbing anoying.
And though we've got the power to get away from most situations, I generally try not to annoy people when out on a bike.

7 to 8 flashes followed by steady on... annoying? How? I got rear ended in my Tundra by a driver do more than 50 mph. I was stopped at a light. The impact was severe enough to push me into 2 car in front of me, and bend the frame of the truck. The driver said he just didn't see that traffic was stop at the intersection.
I'll gladly annoy you if you don't run me over. You watch
THIS CLIP and tell me how you fell about getting a cagers attention!

I have ridden behind many a Hyper Lite set up...... good stuff,
- IF -
they are properly located!
Though they may initially flash, they are ineffective during daylight hours if located out in the open. In other words, the best location for them to be as conspicuous during the day, as they are at night, is in a shadowy crotch of the bike.
In my opinion, they need to be mounted on either side of the factory's brake lamp, in a dark area shrouded by a constant shadow that is not illuminated by the light of day.
When you apply the brake, a sudden and CONSPICUOUS attention-worthy flash of red announces itself to the driver behind you that you're about to slow.
If they're mounted out in the open, little LED's are overcome by the light of the sun.

I don't have the Hyperlites, but have seen them in action. They are very bright, and get your attention. I have the Kisan Tailblazers. You take your tail bulbs out, and replace them with these. They flash rapidly, then slow down, then go to steady on. This all happens in about 4 seconds. They are about the same brightness of the stock bulb, just uses a halogen bulb. www.kisantech.com

Best places I have seen are:
1. under the tail light
2. inside the tail light
3. inside the turn signal
4. under the luggage rack
They must be level and at eye level.

Tailblazers look interesting. Now, which one to go with - the blazers or hyperlites?. To many choices.....for once.
