I made this change on my Suzuki and it was quite simple. My suzuki ran with a 3156 single filament bulb, used only as the turn signal. I simply purchased two new 3157 (dual element) sockets from AutoZone and ran the appropriate flashing wires to the existing turn signal harness by splicing into the lines that ran to the stock socket. I then ran the auxillary, constant-on running light wires straight to the fuse panel with an inline fuse. I attached them to the ignition fuse, so they come on once I turn the ignition on. It works perfectly and is a mod I was already considering to do on my soon-to-be-purchased Sprint. The additional illumination is a safety feature you can't live without. My bike is very visible from the side with the additional lighting and it seems to give more definition to cars while I'm cruising down the road.
I understand the Sprint uses a different bulb and I'm not sure how easliy accessible the socket is, but if it's anything close to my Suzuki, it should be as simple as that. Of course, you could always purchase the item OldNDumb recommended, too. I've seen that around and it seems to work very well.
Does anyone have any pictures of a Sprint with the mirrors constantly lit? I was debating whether I would go that route or run other LED's. I just wasn't sure if it would detract from the lines of the bike. Thanks.
