Similar bikes, but to me the Sprint is much better looking.
If you are into "adventure touring", by all means go for the Tiger. My brother has an Aprilia Caponord 1000, which is an adv tourer along the lines of the Tiger and the V-Strom 1000. Goofy looking bike, and you could not pay me to ride one of those, but there does seem to be a market for them. I think their claim to fame is that you can go slightly off-roading with them. How deep off road would depend on the tires I suppose.
I think the tiger stripes are a bit goofy, and I haven't seen one without those stripes, but they might be there to break up an ugly fuel tank, like when some Japanese makers put flames on their cruisers (blech).

The main difference between the two, besides the looks is the riding position. The Tiger is much more upright than the Sprint. The new Tigers did get some pretty good upgrades, mains being the upside down forks and the radial brakes. Not really and adventure bike, I think Triumph classifies it as and urban bike or some such.

With a 32" inseam, I find the Tiger a bit too tall. I also felt like it was a little too naked at speed. (This is in reference to the Tiger 1050; I've never ridden 885 or 955 Tigers.)
Cheers,
-Kit

The Tigers are a very different beast. You need (as Kit said) long legs to be comfortable on them when coming to a stop.
The position is very upright but they still carve the corners like nobodies business. The engine note is quiet in the 955's and the 1050's - in both they are detuned Sprint motors with (I think) different gear ratios or sprockets. I am not 100% on that though.
I felt that the 955 buffeted quite a bit with screen at speed which I didn't like. It really depends on your requirements and wants.
Good luck.

im into the street look but as i dont have a car and use a bike for everyday
riding the sprint's a very good bike (i have a 30 min commute to work)
if your into the street look, like me :x, its easy to get after taking off the bag's
and their mounts and a few more after market steps
the guys i ride with are all on gxr's and cbr rr's
and they might get me down at the 1/8 mile track, but its about 1+ hour ride away
on the ride back when they are stopping and standing and kicking their legs
every which way and im enjoying a nice ride i know i choose the perfect bike

sprint or tiger???
Honestly I can see the appeal of both...
I guess it depends on your personal preference of riding position. The tiger is much more like a dirt bike with balls... very big balls. carves curves with the best of them; wheelies like a champ. Very "sit up and beg" riding position. super comfy with big squishy seat... no leaning, no "wrist support". although at 80 mph you might find your self hanging on to not be blown over backwards.
Sprint you might find yourself leaning on the wrists a little at lower, around-town speeds, although I find the 80 mph wind + lean position to be a pretty perfect balance of each other on the highway.
so what are you? around town tommy? or a long-weekend, highway hank?

I would say that both are capable commuters or tourers, with quite different riding positions. If you ride both the ST and the Tiger, it should be pretty obvious which one you feel more comfortable on.
I demo'd both last year, and preferred the ST, but I can see why some people would prefer the Tiger too. I found it to be a bit tall for me, and the ride a bit too plush. The particular one I demo'd had a very snatchy throttle and was difficult to ride smoothly as well, but I'm sure something was just out of adjustment on that bike.
