(Another) Headlight Problem

This one's not about lamps, it's about the wiring (I think).

I've just bought a Sprint ST 955 ('00) and the headlights have stopped working. Neither the dipped beam or full beam are working. I've changed the relays, which were broken, but the lights still don't work.

Does anyone have any hints on this?

Thanks,
Phill

Tried

Thanks. I forgot to mention, I've checked both(!) the fuses and lamps, but they all seem to be OK. Still no lights!

Well could be a headlight switch. You can use a multi meter and see if you have any voltage at the headlights themselves.

It's odd that both headlight relays are knackered but these things can happen. You don't mention whether you've checked the headlight cutout relay.

This relay cuts power to the headlights when the starter relay is activated. If this relay is stuck in the open circuit then you're light wont light because it removes power from the main and dip relays.

If the coloured tags are still on the harness, the yellow tag is the headlight cutout relay. If the tag is missing the wire colours are Blue, Black, Yellow/Blue & Red/White. That's from the Haynes manual. hope it helps.
