Yes,I am aware of the pressures in the manuals!! You see,I`m a bit of a chub and I usually carry some items for the ride with me in a tail pac.Or the top box, depeding on which bike I`m riding at the time. I know you fast guys use lower pressures,I used 28F and 32R for some Michelin Pilot Sports a few years ago.But they did not last long at all. My Trophy is a tire eating beast,so I run them high on it. Plus I like the longevity with them hard. So what pressures do you run Dave?

original back tyre - 8500 klms = 5300 mls
5 x 1000+ klm days, balance x 250 klm trips

but I used to get 12000+ klm from the rear tyre of a GSX1400
interesting comparison

At 36 and 42 psi i dont believe you are running too much pressure
The manufacturer states this as max pressure, but it is also the reccomended pressure.
Tyres of the radial variety are desighned to work within a certain heat range, to achieve this the tyre should always be maintained at the manufacturers reccomended pressure, which is also used as max pressure.
Running at lower pressures will not increase grip but will increase wear.

7k-ish. 2CT Powers are on order. I am planning the 020's untimely demise.

There is no untimely demise for 020's. Any time is the right time to kill them.

Swapped out the BT020s at about 2800 miles although I know they could easily have gone another 2800 but I just couldn't stand them.

Now I'm on the Metz M3s and really like them. I ride mostly sports type riding (fairly aggressive) w/ some commuting. I have 2 track days on the current set but really only one counted because the second time we got rained out early in the day. I've got about 1000 miles on this set and they still seem in good nick but I suspect that I'll swap them out at about 1500 as track season gets underway. I ride 34/36 for road and 32/32 track.

My Sprint came with Pirelli Diablo Strada on the front and back, they had about 2500km on them at the time.

I've since added another 6000km and I estimate the rear is down to about 60%
