I've only just got my Sprint ST, and haven't had a chance to put many miles on it yet, but one thing I've noticed is a pins and needles sensation in my right hand, after about 20 or 30 miles. I put this down to a new riding postion, and assume that it will go away once I get used to it.

However, I was talking to a friend a the bike club last night who used to own a Sprint, and he described exactly the same thing in his hand, and he said that it never got better, even after months of riding the thing.

Anyone else had this? If so did you find a cure, or are you just putting up with it?

Cheers,
Nigel.

Hi Nigel!
I got the same thing when I first started riding my ST. I put GenMar risers on and it helped a bit, but not a full solution. I think it's due to the bar angle more than the height. The more I ride the better it gets...but I'm thinking about Helibars or LSL as a permanent solution.

Has Heli or LSL solved this for anyone else????

One thing to consider is what your riding position is. Resting your weight on your hands instead of supporting your weight with your legs and abs. Unless you are a circus acrobat your arms, wrists and hands aren' t supposed to support that weight.

I myself maintain a light touch on the bars, and when I feel something like that I can attribute it to my getting lazy and slouching in my stance.

Another thing you may try is to get different grips. They are cheap to try and easy to change. I went to a more rounded palm filling grip. They were about 5 bucks for the cheap foam kind. I wanted to try them out. They work fine for me and have on order a better made non-foam pair.

LSL did it for me and you have the flexibility of different bend bars.
Also PRO-GRIP 714 grips are great. They are on both my ZRX and RS

I put a set of HeliBars on my ST... at 6'4" the stock clip ons are brutal... with the Helibars I can sit up more, meaning less weight tosse don to my wrists..

that pins and needles feeling is the precursor to carpal tunnel... avoid getting there!
