I noticed on older sprint st and rs models and with BMW motorcycle scheduled maintenance charts...that you have to either check the cam chain slack or you have to replace the chain guide rails in the case of BMW at 36k miles. So maybe its something thats a wear item and was not listed in our maintenance guides on the 05-07 model bikes. What do you guys think?

We have not had any cam chain issues on any 1050 (or 955) engine yet, and we work on some fairly high mileage bikes. Several other dealers I talked to said they had no cam chain issues either, so it may be an isolated problem. Every once in a while any vehicle may have an oddball issue not typical of the breed.
