Just to let you know I have a 06 FZ1 and the pics below. I am wanting to start doing some distance rides now adays so looking for a better bike.

I am just trying to get an idea about the bike thats all. By the way my FZ1 is for sale if anyone is interested or knows someone that is.

Thanks

It's a GREAT BIKE! I think you'll find that pretty universal.

We've had some threads on how to improve it, and there isn't much most of us would do to improve the bike. (do a search)

I haven't tried riding 2 up, so I can't comment on that, but for me, it's a powerful, tractable, very sport ride.

Triumph hit a home run, IMO. I've added an exhaust, for sound, and 6 pot calipers up front to address a common issue of the 1st pull of the lever being a bit soft until the pistons pump in. Not a necessary fix, but a nice & cheap & easy improvement.

Hi Scott,

I looked at several bikes before I bought the sprint st. I looked at the BMW K1200s, mv agusta f 4 1000, brutale, zx1400, ducati 999, and honda vfr to name a few. I didn't know what I wanted as it was my first bike but I wanted a sport type bike that was comfortable and could be ridden all day long. Guess what....when I drove the sprint for the 1st time I instantly knew that this triple engine with the pull of a twin down low and the power of a 4 cyl. up top...that this was the bike for...as well as being very comfy...you wont be disappointed..just do it! I am sure others will chime in and agree

This is the first motorcycle I've owned where I get people complimenting me almost everytime I stop for fuel.

They are unique

I have a older Sprint, I bought it used and my first ride on it was a 1200 miler from Dallas to Phoenix. It perform beautfully, and I have no problem going for any ride from 20 miles to 1000 miles when ever I can. From my understanding the newer ones are a bit more sporty, but still can go the distance. As you'll see, pretty much everyone on this site just raves about the Sprint. Most major bike mags do too. You really can't go wrong with a Sprint. The latest generation has a lot of oomph. The '05 and '06s are a little more sporty with lower bars and windscreen. The '07 and '08 have higher bars and windscreen. Supposedly the '08s have better lights, which is a common complaint for earlier models.

I love mine, I have an '06, and it's very comfy for most rides.

I have an '04 955

Hi Scott,
I also have the 955 last model 2004 bought March 2005.

These bikes handle well have a bucket load of character (no not a rattly dry clutch) and an engine that is a real gem.

Torquey power like a V-twin without quite such harsh engine braking but free revving like a four without the tingly vibes so many have.

This is an engine 955 or 1050 that pulls like a steam train from 2,000rpm to redline in one flawless seem of torque.

They handle corners like a Rhino on heat, check out my melted front and rear tyres in my members album.

The engine is bullet proof and proven, the sound especially with a race can is awesome matching the engine and handling.

I have often put much more powerful sports bikes to shame in the mountain twisties where handling ability and experience counts more than 180 horses under your butt.

try one you won't regret it.
