chain/sprocket combo

This is what im going with on my 2000 RS:

Renthal 18t
Renthal 43t

DID 530VX108 chain

Any comments on that setup?

If you are asking about quality of parts, you will get various opinions.
If you are asking about the net effect of that combo, go to:
www.gearingcommander.com/
and look for your bike in the listing. If it isn't listed, submit the specifications to him and he will load it in his data base. When he does that, you should then post a link to it in the blog section for the other riders.

I might be wrong, but the stock chain I believe was 106 links?...

If I am correct and you are going with -1 front - your chain might be a bit longish, I think

The manual says 108, hopefully thats right haha.

I just noticed DID recommends the 530VM x-ring chain, anybody have opinions on x vs o-ring?

Pretty sure OEM is an X.

It is supposed to be better than an O which have been around for yonks.
It's job is to keep crap out and lube in.

I would get an X myself.

This is probably a stupid question but when buying a chain does it come with the master link? I see they sell them separate and non of the chain pictures seem to include them...
