Soft Panniers

Hi all,

I'm keen to do some 1-up overnighters/camping and I was looking to install some sort of luggage system. I know some of you guys/gals have Ventura gear with rack but I prefer to keep the "clean" look of my Sprint. So my only option is probably soft panniers. I have an Oxford tank bag that I'm happy with and I'm wondering if anybody here have their brand of panniers installed. Otherwise, keen on your opinions/experience of other brands.

Cheers.

I don't have them installed but I have a set of Tourmaster/Cortech sport saddle bags that you can see a picture of here http://www.helmetcity.com/page/HC/PR...cortech/82-332

I bought them back when I had my VFR and have used them on several trips both long and short and they have held up well. There is also a tailbag that is sold separately that attaches to them to make a pretty nice setup. Here's a link to the tailbag if you're interested. http://www.helmetcity.com/page/HC/PR...cortech/82-411

The bags are well made, come with rain covers and they also have a padded backing to help protect the paint.

No affiliation with helmet city, they were one of the first links when I searched for pictures.
Speed Safe,
Don

I have a pair of Ortlieb Drybags that can be bought at Aerostich. Been using them for the past 10 yrs and am totally satisfied. I used them on my two Ducati SS's and now my '04 Sprint RS.

Greetings -

I used the Triumph soft bags on my '02 Sprint - they worked very well, had more storage space than the hard luggage, and were pretty good at keeping out rain - especially with the rain covers over them.

Cheers

Thanks guys. Some really good options there but sourcing some of these brands in Oz present a problem. Not so much the product but the postage. Often the online stores only ship by DHL (or equiv) and the postage can be as much as the product. Anybody outside of US use and can recommend UK or US based online stores?

Sydneywizard...I have the Triumph Soft Panniers which came with the bike

and look similar to the ones that 1050strider has on his bike, but to fit the

Triumph ones, you have to remove the seat. And the 1050 Sprint has the

worst seat removal system in the history of motorcycles. so I have made

a harness to fit over the seat and they work fine.

Regards gsbeamer.

Oh man! You must have been in the middle of posting your reply while I was in the process of ordering this exact bags from Pure-Triumph for $190. Could have saved myself a few bob. Its what comes from being impatient.
