Put seventy five miles under my Dunlop Qualifiers today, travelling a bit further up the twisties well into the Sierra Nevada foothills. Very little traffic on the roads, and just jaw-droppingly beautiful weather. I felt like I wanted to just keep climbing- Another 45 minutes up, and I'd be in Giant Sequoia Nat'l Park- but I had promised my son I'd spend time with him so I turned around. Gotta get him a helmet so he and I can make these nature rides together- I ****ing
love this kind of exploring. There are hundreds if not
thousands of miles of two-lane, paved mountain roads up there.
Need new batteries for the stupid digicam, and fitting a mount for the GPS is now a priority.
On the way down, I took a different road home. As it descended into the valley, I hit a very long, deserted straightaway... and I used this piece of road to break (very briefly) into the triple digits for the first time. :acool
The snowcapped Mount Whitney beckoned in the distance- come springtime,
that's my target destination.
I'm so hooked.
