Bikes Back.... Un-repaired...

Hi all,

Well, after a few weeks wait the insurance company will cover all repairs to my bike (except for the Pazzo levers... i forgot to notify the insurance co. that i had fitted them... :( )

So, after a chat with the dealer, he has ordered all the parts.
And as the bike is still rideable (after I made my own gear lever!) they let me have the bike back, so i can at least get some riding in over Christmas/New Year....:D

Now i just have to wait for all the parts to arrive (a few items are on back order...) they will paint the new fairing panels etc. and when they have all the parts, i just have to drop the bike off and they will fit everything. So, i hope that means minimal time without the bike when the parts arrive! :D

Now, to remember my new mantra... don't drop the bike... don't drop the bike...

Cheers, G

Know your pain my friend , let hope you won't have to wait the 3 mths like I did, but hey, you still get to ride.

K8, I'm with you with this rain, I have been out for 3 days in the "muck" up to my knees with only 7 hrs sleep in 72hrs - Hmmm, now if I can just think as to "why" I joined the SES?

Cheers

Hi Grae

Glad you got your scooter back, waiting for parts is a pain in the bum though.

It is not just Triumph parts you have to wait for; my best friend got back from a 9000km trip including Phillip Island, Tassie, Adelade, Melbourne and back to Brisvagas.

While in Tassie he ended up riding in 9" of snow during a heavy fall between towns, hit some black ice and had a low speed low side which damaged his fairing on his Fazer 600. that was about a month ago and although he can ride around it will be at least another 3-4 weeks before the shop:( has the parts.

Glad you are on deck though mate.

Thanks All, :)

Just back from a couple hours riding (the rain has stopped!) It is nice to be mobile again.

It may be February before she looks her best again, but she still rides great and i'm having fun trying to find the grip limits on the SportAttacks.

Smegin, I should be able to join in part of Poddy's ride (probably from home to Mt Hotham/Omeo depending on work commitments)

Rus, I was having too much fun riding... and forgot all about notifying the Insurance Co. of fitting a few aftermarket goodies, i have fixed that now!

Cheers, G :D

IMO the RoadAttacks grip well and really suit the Sprint, espescially for someone that mixes sportier riding with touring/commuting.

I changed the RoadAttacks for the SportAttacks after 9000km/5600Mi, the Roads still had a bit of life in them, but the grip was starting to drop off.

The SportAttacks have noticeably more grip than the Roads, the front has a less rounded profile than the Roads and steers 'quicker' as a result.
Turn-in is stable and progressive, and there is good feedback, especially at the front, when you are cranked right over. (very confidence inspiring!) Feedback under braking is excellent.

The rear is more rounded than the Roads, but compliments the front and grips really well (i know it's subjective, but i would say the Sports offer about 30-40% more grip than the Roads)

As to wear rates, that will have to wait a bit... I have just ticked over 1000Km/620Mi on the Sports.

The Sports were also $60.00 a pair less than the Roads...

Cheers, G

(I will post this in the Tyre 'sticky as well)

+1 Grae, keep us informed re: the wear on the road as time goes on.

Cmon Dave, ya know you want to go for some Deutsch rubber:)

Seriously for your riding probably only the Race Attack would do!!!
