Installation Tip!

Very important! When you are ready to reinstall the tail light bracket;

A. Don't open your can of Bud Lite. Keep it cold for later.

B. Use a quality tie down strap.

C. Leave all of the clamps loose (cans and mid pipe brackets).

D. Locate the strap just in front of the tail light bracket holes (leaving enough room for the tail light bracket).

E. Tighten the livin' hell out of the strap. Enough to squeeze the cans together so that the tail light bracket will fit close enough to start the tail light bracket bolts.

F. Don't over tighten the tail light bracket bolts.

G. Hit the Bud Lite!

Talking Don't bum my high man....

I'm starting to get nervous here about all the "tight fit" talk. Clamps, tie-downs, etc. My TOR was a plug 'n play compared to what I'm hearing about the install.

There will be no problems.

I just posted this so you can get it installed on the first try. Some try this without knowing about the "strap". The strap makes it much easier!

Ask me how I know!

did anyone get the baffles?

Did anyone in the recent group order get the baffles? I was going to install without but keep them around in case it was to loud and did not pass the wife test. We have sound police around here and she doesn't want me upsetting the neighbors. Anyway I want the baffle and was surprised it was not in my shipment. Did anyone else get them?

I thought I ordered it too..........

BUT I'm glad I didn't/didn't get it.

You don't want it.

Just give it a little time to get used to the sound, you won't want less

Don't worry. I'm a Peace Officer. They are not too loud. My wife H A T E S loud pipes with a passion, but says the Tridents are OK. They will seem more authoritative when you first hear them. But you can't even hear them at highway speeds from the saddle. Only a pleasant purr.

I recently came upon a road block/license check. The Trooper was very impressed with my Sprint (like who isn't) and made many compliments. He offered no grievances concerning the pipes (he did not know I was in Law Enforcement).

I will say this though...if you go through the neighborhood at 9,000 rpm, at 0530 hours, you may get a complaint. We are very fortunate that the Sprint has plenty of grunt down low, so you can keep the revs down when riding in congested areas, but can still enjoy the extra horseys provided by the Tridents when you decide to let her rip.

AND DANG DOES IT SOUND GOOD!

Warden--- Please send me a PBA card and a get out of jail free note. Loud pipes can work. I got stopped one time and was about 20 yrs over due for inspection. The cop gave me a ticket for loud pipes and not the biggie for inspection. sometimes it's good to give them an excuse for a lesser offense. I could strill use the card and note.
