07 Sprint lights
Since the time change and the new darkness at 5 pm I've had a chance to run my bike at night more and the lights on mine aren't that bad. The high beam could use a little more poop, maybe another 10 watts and the factory setting could stand a raise on the low beams but other than that, for a bike they aren't that bad.

4N099,
Are you getting a "v" pattern?
Are you blinding oncoming cars?
Do you lose lighting when rounding curves?
Can you snap a photo of your beam pattern?

The 07 light assemblies are the same as the 05 and 06.

I don't know, maybe it's because I have more weight in the saddle, or just don't have the same expectations - but I think the lights are pretty good

Same here. I like the stock low beams. I need to post a pix of the Sprint lights compared to my BMW's lights. The Sprint's are twice as good!
On any bike (if you ride much at night), due to the lean angle, one should have a set of MotoLights type fork mounted lights. The fork mounted lights don't "dive" when you hit the brakes.

I imagine there are bikes out there with lights that throw a wider pattern than the Sprint, but I doubt they are as good as the fork mounted MotoLights, as WardenRoss points out.
They don't dive and they turn with the fork while the stock lights remain pointed ahead.

My 05 Tiger has a nice beam...no complaints there. Also, my gals Ninja 250 has nice lighting, but the Sprint just doesn't do it with the ridiculous sharp cutoff. I imagine that the sharp cutoff "flashes" to the distant observer, which is a great safety feature including the orange-red edges, but doesn't serve the rider well due to the extreme contrast (pitch black to full light within inches). What ever happened to washed out lighting, like to good ol' days. (no pun intended, OND )
On the interstate, the sprint lights are awesome, but riding the average county road is way to tricky at night.

Yes, soft edged cone with a flat top, extends well into both ditches on a two lane road. Shape of an angel with highbeam forming the head.
As far as I know I am not, no one has flashed me yet for brights.
I lose some on inclined curves, not so much on flats.
Highbeam is positioned slightly left of center which seems to help light the centerlines and road edge. I'll dim in right turns to oncoming traffic but leave it on in lefts as the beam follows the right edge more and doesn't seem to be directed at the oncoming traffic as much.
I'll get a picture of it for you.

Glad someone brought this up..
I've been meaning to ask if others are having these issues as well, and what some fixes are.

No.
Maybe, I have cages flash high beams at me once in awhile.
Yes, but not so much now that the dealership raised them up a bit more.
Not, really one of the bulbs is burned out..... I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to replace it with a stock bulb or a brighter aftermarket one.
The other things I've noticed about these headlights is that they do flash red to the cars/ bikes in front of me. I've had friends complain that it weirds them out and I've had cars pull off the road when I got behind them. I kinda like the cages getting out the way but, for the others I'd like to do something about them....
