Ok, had the break-in service done over the weekend.

Total cost was $140ish. Can't recall the exact number, but I'll try to edit this post later when I can pull the receipt.

Charged for 1.15 hrs labor, plus oil, filter, and washer. Definitely will be doing my own oil changes from now on, just want to maintain warranty for now.

Dan

My 2003 GSX-R averaged 3,000km before the rear tire was trashed. The Sprint will have to be pretty bad to match that cost. Look forward to being a RAT man this year.

I had the 500 mile maint. done on my 05 Sprint last week. It came out to $128 and some change at PJ's Triumph in Albuquerque. Shop time is $75 an hour, billed in 10ths. They said it took about an hour and a half.

That seems VERY fair. I had my first service done almost 2 years ago and the cost was $165.00 and I think the shop rate was just $65.00 per hour. It's great when you know that if you 'must' take your ride into the dealer you are getting a good deal, especially when the bills get bigger!
:hihi:

So which dealer do I go to for my 00 RS 12k service in the Seattle area? I-90 motorsports or Cyclebarn? What do they charge at each one and is one better than the other?

thanks

Just got my 2002 Sprint ST back from Fla. Motorsports in Tallahassee. Cost was $700 including the replacement of some bastard parts put on by the previous owner. I purchased the bike from Fla. Motorsports last January. They bled front and rear brakes successfully. Bike also got a new stainless "offroad" pipe and latest fuel map (not included in service, of course). Bottom line is I believe I got good service at a fair price.

The actual 12,000 mile service charge was $548. It matched the estimate and included a few things not required in the 12k service. This seems better than most of what I have read on this forum. I told myself going in that a proper service should result in a noticeable improvement in the riding experience. It did. I would recommend Fla. Motorsports.

Hi All,
Got quoted $700 for the 12k. While that is not out line with most of the estimates here, I just can't bring myself to spend nearly a thousand bucks on something that isn't broken. So I guess I'll be buying a minometer, and a service manual and do it myself. Heck the front fork tube was loose when I got the bike and I had to fix that too. So I guess I will put my mek-a-niks hat on and do what I gotta do.

However a clutch cable replacement was in order at 11K at $33... anyone else have clutch cable failure?
Yep: crankcase end nipple pulled right off with only 2500 k on it.

Otherwise first service with extras was $AUD300, or about $400 US. Extras: sync carbs, remap, fit crash protectors, tweak throttle mechanism, even up the idle.
