At 6000 mi I needed to replace rear pads and have the rotor turned (just slightly)

Dude, stay off the rear brakes... I have gone 22K and have PLENTY of pad left.

However a clutch cable replacement was in order at 11K at $33... anyone else have clutch cable failure?

Just had my Sprint ST 12000 mile serviced. Your costs in the USA look pretty reasonable to me. Servicing place new front brake pads came to £750 at todays exchange rate that would be about $1411. :???:

Forget that last posting. need to leave the beer alone should have read £470, still works out about $900.

On my 02 ST that I ran up 8k on and other then a recall and a fuel senser that was replaced under warranty I only had to shell out for a set of skins. Tires mounted and balancing was around $300, for BT 020's. And of course oil and filter changes but I do that stuff my self and use Purolator filters and Mobile 1 10/40 from the discounters so it is much less then the Triumph stuff.

On my 04 ST I had a bit more grief. I had some break trouble on the front end. The rotors both had a slight bend in them from new. It took some arm wrestling by my dealer with Triumph to change them because the rotors were with in spec. There is more to it then that but in the end it was warranted.

I also had the shaft seal blow out on the rear shock at around 5k. Can you say pogo stick. That was warranty.

At about 6k the rear break began to hang up and the dealer charged me $20 to pull the break peddle apart and clean it up. It irritated me a little but it was done.

At 8.5K I had the 12K adjustment done. The engine was a bit loud from day one and the dealer gave me some grief about bringing it in early but the thing would get clicking so loud when the bike was warm and the oil had some mile on it that it was loud in my helmet riding down the high way. To his surprise he had to change five shims. He said that he never had to do that before. Well he cant say that any more. At the same time I had a set of BT 020's installed and some other stuff. The whole adventure left me $750 lighter in the wallet but the bike runs great and sounds the way it should now.

I really like my dealer and it is a good thing to because he is 300 miles away so all of these trips are a bit of an adventure and have some time and fuel costs involved when I make the trip. I do have a couple dealers a Little closer, only about 75 miles but as I said I like the one I use.
