Headlight adjustment....

Hello all. I'd like to know if all the Sprints have E-code headlamps or not (especially the US models). The reason I ask is that I have Oldndumb's link to Daniel Stern lighting which gives a great write-up on adjusting the E-code lamps, but I can't find specific info that the US bikes have these lamps versus DOT versions?? Thanks.

Sorry, I can't help you there. I'll give it a nudge and see if someone else responds.

I don't believe there's any difference in the US specd vs EU specd headlights so they should be E-code.

Hi Kevin,

I can't locate OND's link can you please provide the link as well so I can try to adjust my lamps? The light output on the 05 Sprint is great, well, as long as you stay in a straight line.

Thanks,
Falcon

Sorry......I've been out riding and enjoying the cooler weather. Yesterday, I got to watch a dealer demo ABS braking and slow speed maneuvering. The demo rider, who is extremely experienced, dropped the Sprint doing a slow speed cone weave.

The sprint headlights are E Code. You can verify that by marking on the lens cover. It is a capital E in a circle.

Anyway, I haven't been able to find any popcorn. Guess I'll have to pop my own.

Sorry for my late response. Thanks to whoever linked the Daniel Stern link--it's very informative.

OND--I found the E in the circle for the lens, so I too thought this was the E-code signal. By the way, I also noticed on the bottom of the lens, it said motorcycle DOT, so that left me a little confused initially.

Anyways, in regards to the link, I plan to give the adjustment a shot as soon as I find an appropriate wall/lot.

Another question-----does anybody know if we set up the high beam just like the low beams per the Daniel Stern link?? I also assume it will be easier to line up the beams one at a time (by disconnecting the bulbs that you are not aligning)

I think the Daniel Stern site provides better info than most. using his info I have been able to re aim my lights so that they are better, but I have not been able to get the pattern exactly as he recommends. Might be a problem with my technique, or not being able to stand all of the flying insects, or that may be why Triumph changed the projector lens for 08.

Good idea re disconnecting the bulbs not being aimed.
