Welcome to the office kukok. You'll find some very helpful advice, reliable general info and a whole lot of silly behavior.

I asked that same question several months ago and the general response was that the Sprint rake isn't as steep as most "pure" sport bikes so the damper wouldn't really add a whole lot of benefit. This is a really stable bike all the way through very high speeds of 150+ mph. I've ridden mine on the track and through the twisties fairly aggressively and have never had a wobble, even after hitting bumps and pot holes. However, if you really wanted to put one on, you could probably modify the rods to fit the Sprint.

Do you have the 07 Sprint? Do you have a Scott damper that you just don't want to go to waste?

If you do a search you will find as Denman says.

It doesn't need one IMHO it would be a total waste of money and time.

cheers,

I agree with DaveM. I think I've hit about most conditions where if it was going to shake it's head it would have done so. If I thought it needed one I'd be the first in line.

IMO putting one on would probably increase effort and possibly slow down the steering and add weight.

Thank you for the info. I had a scott damper on my R1 and thinking putting the same damper on the 07 sprint.
I have no tank slapper so far , it is just precaution

Sell it and use the money for beer - from what I see on the forums the only headshake issues may be caused by things that a damper might just mask....
tyre pressures
warped discs
out of true wheels
etc

How can more safety gear be a waste? ;-)

I've discovered on the tack that it isn't just head shake the dampen helps with. It can help prevent high sides.

Since I have one on my track bike I'd like to be able to use it on street bike, esp. since I've gone much faster on the street then I have on the track.
