Question Help with Locksmith

Help with Locksmith

Had to replace my Glove box Cover and Lock (it blew off Not locked)

Was racing a hot blond on a 1200 Harley on Cornhusker road. She had the jump on me and smoked me. LOL Let the ribbing begin.

The black plastic cover was 9 bucks, the lock stile was 45 (ouch) and now I have to carry an additional key. Does any one know if a locksmith can fit the orginal igination key to the new glove box stile?

It should be possible for the locksmith to do that with the barrel. I had something similar with my car when I had to get a new lock, my chip ignition key was priced as $400 ! so the barrel resort was the way to go. It should work on any barrel lock and you shouldn't need a new barrel, just the inners swapped around.

That Harley's going to be laughing all the way to the cafe smoking you and having parts fall off your bike, it's generally the otherway around !

Ride on !

Jeffro,

You are embarrassing us. My God man have you no pride? :-)))

A good locksmith should be able to take care of you. Just lie about how it happened. Ok guys, where's the smilies when you need them. Honest, I don't know how to do a smiley?:-)

Did that do it?

Don

I was told by a drunk locksmith on the blueridge parkway that a friend of his lost his key and because of the way the ignition is made he could do nothing about it and the guy had to wait on a key from Triumph for about a month before he could ride his bike.

I hope the lock to the black plastic thingy is not made the same way. I believe there has been a discussion on ths before and it seems like the answer was 2 keys forever.

Smile Thanks guys

In my line of work I have to take a polygraph once a year, so I always tell the whole story and don’t lie, trust me the wife uses it all the time. My dealer asked Triumph if she could give them the key number and if they could fit it to my original key and they said no, new barrel and key. SO I was hopeing a lock smith could re-fit the barrel
