Front lower panel... the one with the big "RS" on it... has five screws... the hex key should be in your roadside emergency toolkit... there are two right above the front fender, one where the front and lower panels meet (by the handle bar), and two near where the panel comes alongside the frame (one high towards the front, one low towards the back)...
Be careful, the turn signal has wires with quick disconnects in the front nose... to take off the turn signal... remove the nut on the inside... take the lens off with a small philips head screwdriver... remove the assembly with the bulb in it... the two wires can easily be removed with a pair of needle nose pliers... (remember which color goes to which connecter)... then pull the wires out... and you now have a naked fairing...
By the side panel, I'm assuming you mean the one that goes around just under the seat... if you take the seat off, there will be two bolts (14mm hex head I think) towards the rear (under the pilon seat), and two screws like the ones holding the front fairing on (again hex key should be in your tool kit)... near the gas tank and then just above the driver footpegs, on the inside of the fairing things that stick out on the inside of the fairing... (I have no idea what you call them)... but they simply push in and pull out of recepticles on the frame... I ususally slide my fingers behind the fairing on either side of these things when I pull them off, so I don't snap them... you'll feel them if you gently try to pull the body away from the frame... also reach in where the tail light is and disengage the quick connect for the lights...
Once all wires, bolts, screws, and protruberances have been detached from the bike... stand behind the bike... spread the sides and pull towards you and up... at this point you can take it apart into three pieces... one for each side and one small piece by the light... I've never done this.. but it should be fairly straightforward when you have it to this point...
Good luck... hope this helps....
EDIT: Oops.. just realized yours is an '04... mine is an '01... but I believe the body stuff is identical... anyone else know for sure about that???
