07 Sprint ST trip meter reset

Hello,

I am a new 07 Triumph Sprint ST owner in Rochester NY
I purchased my bike on 10/06.
I really like this bikes character.
Other than a coolant leak the bike has been great.
The coolant leak was caused by a bad molding/forming of the reservoir tank. The coolant reservoir tank nipple had such deep mold lines that the hose, even with such a strong clamp, could not seal.
When I first picked the bike up I was able to reset either trip meter.
For some reason I no longer can rest them.
The buttons themselves seem to work.
I can scroll thru ODO and both trip meters using the far right button.
I can clear MPG and Top Speed values with the center rest button.
Seems like a software bug.
Is this something anyone else has experienced?
I did try and disconnect the battery for a while then reconnect – no change.

Hope you guys can help.

Thanks,

David

To reset the trip meter, hold the right button down for several seconds. If I recall, this is one of the things that is incorrect in the manual - the other being the location of the rear rebound damping adjuster.

BlackBeauty,

Thank you so much!
That was indeed the correct answer.
I was able to clear the trip meters.
Now I can sleep better!

Thanks again.

Don't forget to change your setting from #1 to #3. The dealers seem to miss that step before sending the bikes out the door.
