Can I buy just the mounting brackets?

Just wondering if I can buy just the part pictured below, I think they're well designed racks and could be used for bungies and other mounting applications.

I don't want the hard bags or the ball/socket mount below the seat, just the side racks.

Anyone know if i can purchase just the two sides of the rack?

Kory-Yous should be able to buy just the rails as a replacement part. I can check at work(Triumph dealership) tomorrow and get back to you tomorrow night if somebody else doesn't confirm. And let you know the price.

Thanks charlie, I like the way they look on the bike and would possibly protect the rear fairing in a slower drop / fall. And I can always use them for bungie cord attach points.

If you're really concerned with damage to the tail section from a fall you would probably want to look into frame and spindle sliders of some type (I have no idea what type would work as I have none.) The only damage my bike has taken in a drop is front fairing and a small chip that would be directly in front of the forward arrow in your diagram. Good luck with the parts.

That's funny. Since I very seldom use the panniers I have removed most of the mounting system from my bike. Saves weight and looks cleaner. Lately I have found that I very seldom carry a passenger either so I have removed also the passenger pegs and the grab handle . All this would take me about 20 mins to put back if required. I haven't had the chance to measure the weight of everything I have removed but it should amount to at least a couple of kilos or even three. I have the Triumph tail bag mount permanently installed on the back of the seat.

Didn't mean to insinuate that you were ignorant...just wanted to point out from my experience dropping the bike that the rails probably wouldn't help to protect the tail in a drop. The section of the tail that is farthest out is the low section that is below the inboard mounting point for the rail. I agree with you that they might be useful, just pointing out that there are probably better ways to go about protecting the plastic.
