Greetings to all those who still have a life...Last August my family and I relocated from CA to PA (York) and moved in to my mother-in-law's until our home is built (approx 11 days. But whose counting?). Although my in-laws are very gracious, it is extruciatingly painful to live here. I've discovered the in-law has OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and is impossible to please. She found a way to have my bike stored in another garage, which prevents me from baybying it order going for a nippy winter ride. I'm really getting frustrated and my patience is wearing thin. Riding has been my release (aside from some good lovins, which aint happenin under the current roof); however with it stored, I have no way of finding my sanity. I'm goin nuts!

You need to get Mums to obsess on something outside the house for a few hours. Then you and the Misses can perhaps come up with an idea on how to release that built up pressure???? Take her to a movie (actually drop her off) and head back to the house for a little quality time together. We moved into our new house Jan 10, this year and now my in-laws live next door (Everybody Loves Raymond?). Not really, they are great people and NEVER come over without calling first. They also love my rottweiler and keep her over there all day while we are at work.
Beside that, moving to PA from CA?? :???: Must be a little bit of weather shock too? The only other thing I can think of is to start drinking. Good luck with the new house, this will all seem like a distant memory soon. :-D

Sport, Make sure you log out after each session as those obsessive compulsives might browse you internet history and read your post. With inlaws it can get worse than HELL. By the way your not missing any riding weather now out here anyway, its been nothing but this crappy rain.....John

If you think OCD is causing frustration for you, think of what it is doing to your Mum in law. It is a serious and sometimes very debilitating affliction. Try to remember that she is helping you guys out, when she knew it would be difficult for her to let anyone (even family) inside her troubled world.
Yes, it can and will be very hard. You have barely over a week to go before you are in the new flat. I hope it has a garage for the ST!

Happiness is felt most when you are reminded of the challenges you have faced and come through.

Oops...I apparently did not log off...Fortunately they are PC illiterate. Nevertheless, It is not something I am in the practice of doing, (thanks for reminding me).

In regards to Mum in-law...I must say she is very generous with her time, and as a special ed teacher, I realize some of the frustrations she is feeling, and understand that it goes both ways.

EUROTWINS - I'm not sure where you are; however, it has been decent cold riding weather this last week (35-50F.).

I'm just going through withdrawels knowing that my bike is not available for those quickies...

In regards to the wife...well, lets just say she needs her own house in order to relax to let me in.

Thank for all the support!

Sport,

Riding in PA in the winter is great. Nothing like being the only bike out on the roads. If you are into Long Distance Rallies you couldn't have moved to a better spot. Mason Dixon 20/20 rallies start/end in York. They have one coming up on Memorial Day weekend.

I'm not too far from you, so if you want to ride drop me a line. I've got a pretty busy schedule, live down in Wilmington, but know the roads of Central PA fairly well.

Sport,

You poor devil! It must be really bad for you to open up like that. But now's the time to buck up and show 'em what you're made of. If you make it through this with no major blow ups with Mums, you'll be able to look back and have a good laugh with the wife....if you mess this up it could be a sore spot for a long time. Hang in there.

you guys are all too serious on this post! i say slap the compulsive ***** and park your bike in the living room! Hell, give the wifey a go round on the kitchen table to! Just kidding... Grab a beer and a remote... 11 days is nothing if you're drunk and happy. Think you're depressed? I live in Maine - we're drunk for 1/2 the year (ie winter months). I went out to my shed to smoke a cigar the other day and it was 5 degrees F in there... still a good time if you got a tall glass of dominican rum next to you.

Geographically speaking, Hell is in Norway.

It's located about 20 miles north of Trondheim. Has an airport next to it, a railway station, a shopping centre etc.

Best thing is - it really freezes over. Every year.
