Barber Vintage Festival again

Hi all.
I'm planning a trip up from Florida with a buddy on the 18th - who else is going? We have camping passes and backup hotel reservations, but does anyone have recommendations on places to stay -maybe biker friendly local inns? How's the camping in the park (Lot C)?
thanks

Gatorman - I was there last year and I'm going again this year. I can tell you it rained last year and the roads to the camping and vending area were muddy as can be. It was also very cold in the mornings last year.
This years weather has been much different so, I doubt the cold would bother you but, I haven't seen the forecast for weather. You didn't mention what kind of camping you're doing. Tent or camper? The camping areas I saw were open in the field type.
Right now I'm planning on riding the sprint down and staying Thur, Fri & Sat night in a motel in Pell City. Too bad 29 Dreams motorcycle resort won't be available for camping. You might be interested in Motorcycle Classics Vintage ride from Barber at 8am Saturday, to 29 Dreams for a breakfast and an 80 mile ride on some nice backroads and back to Barber for AHRMA racing in early afternoon. It costs $30 a bike, but, you get a subscription to Motorcycle Classics and some other nice items. And the proceeds go to charity.
I'll be riding a 2000 Sprint ST, Black from Tennessee, if you see me say hi.

Just do it

thanks Roadduster. We're riding up from Florida and planning to tent camp Thurs - Sat nights. I was sorry to see 29 Dreams wasn't open, so I guess we'll take our chances at Barber. Hopefully it will be dry and the temp hasn't been too bad there lately, but I got a motel in Trussville just in case. I'll look for you - I have a British racing Green Sprint and my friend has a BMW 650 GS. Where's Pell City?

Gator,
Pell City is east on Hwy 20. Look for the hwy.459 east and it will dump you onto hwy 20 just a few miles west of Pell City. 29 Dreams is not far from there.

Gatorman,

I am still trying to figure out if I am riding the ST up (from Orlando) or driving w/a '65 Honda Dream to sell.

I have not been up for Vintage days before but have gone to three other events, it's a great place. Are you taking the interstate or back roads? I usually run 27 all the way past Eufaula (beautiful town) hit 431 to 169 to 280.

For this year's AMA event we stayed in Cheaha State park to the east of B'ham and had a nice ride in everyday, good roads in and out of the park. 29 Dreams is a fun place when available, I have never camped at the track but seems like it would be fun and obviously close to the action.

Thanks burmbuster.
NorrinRadd - I may check out the state park too, but I like the idea of being right in the middle of the action and having easy access to the museum. We want to take back roads as much as possible - probably leaving Wednesday and maybe stopping somewhere on the way. Let me know if you want to ride with us.

Thanks, appreciate the offer. What time do you intend to leave? You are heading out Wednesday or Thursday?

NorrinRadd,
We're planning to leave early Wednesday. I doubt we'll try to make it in one day, and camping at Barber isn't available 'til Thursday, so we're probably stopping somewhere along the way. Just started looking at the map and we like your US 27 route; maybe take a different loop on the way home.

I may attend the Ventage Festival...

but I can't ride my Sprint due to broken arm. I may drive over in my F150.

I will be hanging out with the Riders of the Lost Empire group.

Drop by, if you get a chance!
