Anybody build a stroker motor for the sprint?

I have built several stroker motors in dirt bikes and pocket rockets, anyone ever think outside the box with the Sprint or the likes? I can build the offset pins for the crank, like I have done with other cranks. Waht do you all think? I could pull at least another 30-50cc's from the 955i.

I am somewhat new to the 1050 however, from what I have read here, if you own a 1050 you already own a stroker motor(so to speak). i.e. I don't think you can get much more out of it without rebuilding it every six months.

or you could try an S3 motor

and then turbo it!!

Do you need more power ?? Really?? They can already lift the front wheel off easily...

IMO why mess with a reliable powerhouse

If you have a late 955i you could in theory drop in the 1050 crank and rods. In practice you'd find it cheaper to source a complete engine to swap.

TBH, the 1050 has a pretty ugly rod/stroke ratio. I've seen a few 1050 motors in bits with broken rods. I don't think they are quite as bulletproof as the 955. Just my opinion of course.

South Bay Triumph used to do a big bore kit for the 955. It consisted of liners from the Trophy 1200 fitted to the 955 cylinder. The liners also had to be bored and obviously custom pistons and head gaskets. The final result was 1040cc with the shorter stroke of the 955i engine. As stated previously Triumph pretty much thinks they have gone to the end of the line with the 1050cc being the max engine size and still have the degree of reliability necessary for a production bike. And yes that's about all Triumph did to the 1050 was to stroke a 955.

I understand your need. In the past I have built several stroker motors but a little bigger.
429/460 Ford based to 454, 490 and 523 ci. and almost the same combos with FE based motors, 427's and 428's. I've always want to try a 351 bumped to 427.

Torque is increased and that is good, up to a point. It just depends on how much room is in the bottom end and where you can get pistons made to keep the compression height the same.

Probably the best and easiest way to build more torque in these motors would be to supercharge it with a turbo. There is a company in Oregon that does just this, build a turbo system for bikes.

Good luck on your endeavor in going outside the box.
