Fuel leak

Road Saturday and Sunday no problem. Went to garage yesterday and noticed a small gas leak. Last night it was gone, but today it's back. Opened the gas cap to a hiss. Must be a pinched vent line? How does it become pinched by riding? and which is the vent line? Checked quick connect and it was dry

fuel leak

check the quick disconnects under pressure(key on)- put a little stress on them by wiggling the line.
My leak was at the threaded connection in the tank plate, would only leak at certain times.
Still can't believe they used a plastic fitting in such a critical connection.

I too had a fuel leak simular to yours. I found that the o-ring on the quick disconnect was the problem. Put on a new one and no more leaks hope this helps

On my 06 there are two breather hoses attached to the bottom of the tank on the right side. One of those came off (not sure how) while I was in Colorado and it leaked fuel. Not sure how long it was off but once I got it back on the problem has not returned.
I also had the gas cap hiss when I first bought it but the dealer fixed that when I took it in for its 600 mile service.
Speed Safe,
Don
