I apologize for the attitude, but being a bit of a stickler of things when I see like 25 views and not 1 response I kinda just figured...I'll just get to the point this time(the last was TMI incedent I think)
Wife got bike bike went to shop I got bike... ok that outta the way...
How can I raise the rear of said bike, seems like it was lowered the seat is a dead 31 inches, the manuals states 31.69 but I would love to go 32.5 or 33 inches. Does anybody know of a kit for this?
I'm eventually gonna create a streetfighter out of it as we have other bikes to ride, and this one is just a toy for now.
I know now who is hardcore Triumph ppl and won't get pissy if I have to wait a bit! I am diggin' the site alot of invaluable information! Thanx for the welcome!

custom seat

Welcome to the forum.... poeple from all over the world hang out here, as you've now seen... thanks for coming by and I hope we can all help you and then have you stay around and help others...

I have an 03 ST.. the only way is to rebuild a seat to give your butt a higher platform... at 6'4" I am a bit cramped, but have a sheepskin cover that adds 3/8" or so to the hieght. I never found anything to help lower pegs.

Options...

Does it look as if the seat has been shaved? I don't believe there's an easy way to lower an RS due to the DSSA. The seat should be right around 31.7" stock.

You could try to see if a Daytona shock would fit, as I believe it's a little longer. Other than that, you could check with Sargent on a seat rebuild to add an inch or more. The seat re-build might be the best option as I wouldn't want to mess with the steering geometry too much.

Good response norcaltriumph

If the seat looks stock it could be the spring length

I think that the ST shocker is a bit shorter than the RS. If it has had a change over shock, it may have been replaced with an ST spring instead of the RS??

I think that my rear shock spring colour is different to the ST as well.

Unfortunately I am unable to get to my bike at the moment or I'd tell you what colour mine is for sure (I have broken my ankle).

I'll be able to hobble out tomorrow and drag myself up to the garage and back. I'll tell you then..

I wouldn't want you to hurt yourself more so stay on the couch and chill out, so you can get better and ride sooner, but I think if I find a good machine shop they could make me another dogbone that is a bit shorter which will push the shock up thus giving me the added lift I'm looking for, I'm no engineer so trying to figure out the proper length may be sketchy(I don't want to make more of these than I have to.) I'm also thinkin maybe a threaded rod and 2 blocks of billet may do...I'll know more as soon as I get time.(work, kids, riding take up alot of my time already.)
Thanks for the replies, keep em comin and maybe some easy fix(doubt it) may reveal itself.
quick question tho...Why don't Aussie's type with an accent?(not a riddle,I'm just curious) but if there are any good jokes about it, could be entertaining.(no offense gentlemen, and ladies). Have a great day!
