Throttle CAbles on an 06 ST

I just bought a slightly wreck 06 ST. The throttle was sticking when I bought, but after taking it apart, I can't find anything wrong with the cables/throttle. When I reattach the cables (dual throttle cables) to the hand control, the cables still move freely, but grip will spin another 1/2 turn. I can't see where to attach the closing cable to the grip. I haven't asked a dealer about it and don't really want too.

Any one with suggestions?? Thanks!!

Trying to help, but I am confused. You said that you attached both cables to the twist grip, then you go on to say that you do not see where to attach the closing cable. Seems like a contadiction to me, or I'm misreading something here.

After removing the aft portion of the Twist Grip Guide you should be able to rotate the grip so that both ot the guide cable nipple holes are visible. The upper one will be the opening one, the lower is the closing one.

While you had things apart, did you verify that the throttle body cam rotates freely? Speaking of the cam, the closing cable should installed at the top.

Talking not confused

Thanks for the reply. This site is great!! After reading your response, I think you explained it for me. The grip only has one hole for attaching the cable. I was wondering about that.... I pulled the grip off my Daytona and its exactly the same as the Sprint. I'm thinking when the bike was wrecked, they just stuck grip on that was laying around. Sounds like I will need to visit the dealer. I took a quick pic of the Sprint grip for verification.

Now if I can only figure out how to glue the mounting studs back on the speedo..

Thanks again for the help!!!
