sssa for 2000rs
Hey guys - I'm sure one of you at least has done this.
Would a 2001 sprint single sided swing arm fit on a 2000rs?

I doubt it. Then again, I could be wrong.

I'd like to say how helpful that was
but I'd be breaking the acceptable use policy :

Maybe you can check the frame part numbers via your dealer or bike bandit?
Note that the RS got the SSSA in '04 when Triumph ran out of TT600 swingarms to fit to RS models. If there is any difference it might be the position of the shock and link mounts.
Don't be discouraged. Someone who actually knows will show up sooner or later. Question is, why do you want to increase the weight of the bike with that heavy swingarm, increase rake (and slow the steering) by lowering the rear of the bike, and slowing the handling further with the larger section rear tire? Just for looks?
Oh yeah, I think you will need an ST exhaust as well if you swap. Maybe not. I know the ST muffler (the midpipe actually) will foul the swingarm on an RS. Not sure about the other way around.

If it ain't broke fix it....!
'cos I bid on one on ebay, and now I need a reason to use it:
I'm going to do some work on my RS, so I was looking for heads to get them ported and polished and this nice ebayer also had a sssa!
However, lot's of sprints have them and they aren't so bad either!
So, if it's feasible I'll do it. It will help me 'cos I'm not exactly flatfooted on this bike which has caused a couple of embarassing moments.

You may be able to drop the yokes down the forks a little to compensate for the change in rake caused by lowering the back of the bike. Well, that's if everything fits and the mounting points on the frame are in the right place.
Let us know how it goes!

That's what I thought Kludge
Lower the back, drop the front, improve the looks, maybe underseat exhaust, just to freshen the bike up a bit.
I was thinking of going to a S3 or Daytona, but I love this bike and want to lavish some lovin' on her!
PS - If I was worried about 8lbs I'd lose 50 he he he

I think the big question would be is if the swing arm attachment is the same. This, no one has delved into before here unless it snuck by me and I've been here since day one.
First thing is to get a set of blueprints to see if the swingarm cross pieces are the same diameter at all. Same bearings, shock mounting, retaining method, etc. Since the two frames were different this is a lot to ask unless one has the prints to verify.
Though RS's did come out with SSSA these were essentially the last ones using left over ST frames dolled up to look like an RS.
I guess with a cutting torch, hammer and files one can make anything fit.
Good Luck,
Don

8lbs unsprung weight is a big difference to the handling...
But whatever what makes you happy! I'd still like to hear how it goes and see pix.

Not that I doubt you or anything, but where does that information come from? Personally I suspect that something in the swingarm pivot, shock top mounting point or bottom link mount is different between DSSA RS and SSSA ST, but when you put the two bikes next to each other all the visible stuff look identical. The write-ups on the RS from the time seemed to indicate that Triumph had simply taken an ST and fitted it with the TT600 swingarm, rear wheel and shock.
Granted an '04 RS has an ST frame from the same model year, but the early RS looks to have the same frame as the ST, when you compare the same model years.
