2001 Heated Grips Question

I'M Enjoying the new to me 01 ST. After a ride today I was wondering if I can change the grips since they are heated or are they part of the kit.
If I can't change them I'll just add grip puppies over the top from casporttouring.

On a separate note, I added the zero gravity double bubble and while no big difference in air flow it sure looks good on the bike. Thanks for all the support,
Jon

If you have the heated grips from Triumph, the answer is no. The heating elements are inside the grips unlike some aftermarket set ups that have a tape on heating element that goes beneath any grips.

Thanks Hokie. That's what I thought. I love the Grip Puppies from casporttouring.com and on my BMW the heat still get's through nicely so I will go that route. Thanks for your response.

You are welcome. For future reference, I have a set of Symtec heaters on my DR650 that go under any grips. They were < $30USD (http://www.casporttouring.com/store/...gory_Code=SYMT) and on low they are as hot, if not hotter than the Triumph grips on high. They have been on the bike for about a year now with zero problems. I keep thinking of how I could have spent that extra $170 that I shelled out for the Triumph grips... Oh well...
