(Yet) Another reason to love your Triumph
Well, I'm 48hrs into my Triumph ownership and am loving every second so far. SO the bike's not perfect but name me one that is. I've owned all the Jap manufacturers and a Duke. I loved the character of the Duke but it lost its charm when it came to servicing time and paying for spares. My Sprint is comfortable fast, well specc'd and has the best (real-world) engine i've ever ridden. But best of all is that it's made 70 miles from where I live by a company that's less than 20 years old and which is making serious inroads into the stranglehold that the Japanese factories have. The new Street Triple is universally acclaimed as have all the recent efforts from Hinckley. And don't forget that Triumph are succeeding in a country where manufacturing has been in serious decline every since the glory days of Margaret Thatcher (yeah right).
I'm proud to be a Triumph owner.
How about you?

I'm British & I started riding in 1972, back in the UK. I had 11 bikes before the Triumph; 9 Japanese & 2 Ducatis. I got my Sprint in Feb 07 & it's the only British bike I've ever ridden! I think that it is way beyond remarkable what Hinckley Triumph has achieved, not least because they are up against such formidable competition. I can't see me ever wanting any other make from now on, 'cos I'm completely hooked .

Oxsprint,
How great for you to live so close to the factory! One of these days I'd like to take a tour of the facility.
I agree with you that Triumph is a great marque. They're reliable, handle nicely; and they're FUN to own. I like that the company has such an interesting heritage, seems to be thriving and hopefully will be around for a long time to come. Their marketing people seem to know what they're doing (i.e., purporting exclusivity, while remaining easily affordable; heading exceedingly in the direction of triumph being "fashionable" from their machines to their apparel - and if someone invests enough in their clothing and other gear, they're probably planning to keep buying triumphs as their subsequent bikes - consistent with what Harley Davidson has seen with its apparel in the states ), so I'm guessing Triumph will continue to gain in popularity.
I've owned mine for about 6 months and it's really been a great choice.
Have a great ride and be well!
Jack

As long as you don't bust out with a chorus of "Rule Britania", I'm down with it.
If it ain't Brit, it's $h!t.

I'm gonna have to chime in here with my two reasons why I love Triumph as a company.
One, I grew up with a big bonneville modified into a chopper in my garage with a BIG BRIGHT ORANGE gas tank that always caught my eye, every since childhood I thought, man one day I'm gonna fix that bike up and ride it. Ever since then I've liked Triumphs in the back on my head.
Now being 25 and deciding to start riding ( decided 3 years ago ) I thought about what type of bike I'd like to own, after a year of thinking I researched Triumphs just as a thought, 2005 came along and I visited the Triumph site to see what kind of bikes they were making, found the new body style of the Sprint and FELL IN LOVE, its sexy, sleek, sounds AMAZING, and has a certain class to it that other bikes just don't have.
Two, I think triumphs have more character and unique attributes than other bikes, one one hand you have the retro cruisers and the other the sporty fairing bikes, both with a soul and character that other bikes just lack. I love that! I love going to a movie and being asked: "What kind of bike is that, man i love the curves on it!" or my favorite "IS THAT A TRIUMPH!? I didn't think they were still making bikes" LOL
In the end I'm a Triumph fan for life, hopefully a good loooong life seeing as how I'm only 25 I think I have many many more miles under my wheels.
