Hero blobs

I have lost my second hero blob!

I replaced one about 12 months ago and now the same one has gone.

Kind of annoying I have to grind it down all over again!

It was screwed in tight too. maybe it's an evil plot someone is unscrewing em!

I broke mine some time ago. Hit a crack in the pavement and snapped it and the peg where it goes through. I think pegs cost about 50 bucks so haven't bothered replacing it. The other one is gone too. Didn't figure I need curb feelers anyway.

Apart from the hero status, which is terribly important of course, there is a serious side to this. If you regularly grind them away or touch your feet on the ground maybe, just maybe, you might be pushing the envelope a bit far and just maybe you should examine your riding technique. You should be able to achieve potentially greater cornering speed by adjusting the C of G, ie moving your body weight around. If things are going to go to custard the bike will have a much better chance of out riding the rider and staying upright if the tire contact is closer to vertical as opposed to being really at the edge. Or try to keep a margin of safety up your sleeve for the unexpecetd. Maybe look at some formal rider training and for road riding look at risk management and risk minimisation. Still able to have a s...t load of fun but with a bit better knowledge and understanding of what is actually happening underneath you. I have undertaken a number of Say Upright Advanced rider training courses which I reckon are great in both knowledge training and more importantly attitude training. This has progressed to a number of ride days which I reckon are great. Have to keep your brain in gear and making good decisions for what ever riding environment that you are in.
I use the hero knobs as a bit of an early warning system, I suppose a bit like the real heroes do with knee sliders.
Cheers, Simmo

Pro roadracing career

Hi Dave !
Maybe time to change your vocation and start thinking about a career as a pro motorcycle road racer. Or you could start a hero blob grinding service, shipping worldwide, with the motto "We make you look like a hero even if you're not."
All the best.

I've been staying at the Motel Vacancy lately. It's apparently a large chain with motels in nearly every town, and they always seem to have a room.

Try winding up the preload.Without it set to the correct height it is quite easy to scrape the pegs especialy as the bike gets older and the rear spring starts to sag.

Change them with something like a mini-wheel at the tip, no more grinding
