Anyone have experience with both Aerostich and Gerbing clothing? I've been looking at the Aerostich Roadcrafter 1-piece suit, but learned that my local Triumph dealer will be carrying Gerber starting in January. I guess one advantage of the Gerbing is that you can get electric jacket, pants, gloves, and socks, whereas Aerostich only sells an electric vest or long-sleeve liner.

Any opinions or advice?

I have used Gerbings jacket liner and gloves for several years and love them. Have ridden in 19* and was fine. The heated pants would've been nice, but the bike's alternator would've been taxed. The heated jacket keeps your arms as well as your core warm, and the heated collar feels sooo good. Once you try heated gloves, you'll never go back! Sort of how I feel with heated grips now. Grips are good for inbetween temps, but in full winter mode, the gloves are the way to go.

I have been wearing 2pc Roadcrafter now since mid-Sept and love it. I used to use whatever I could find to fit me (have lost a ton of weight), and they sucked. Nothing was waterproof, couldn't get a suit type garment. The Stich is stupid proof. I leave it zipped together, and it goes on in under a minute. Quality is top-notch, no damned rain gear to worry about packing or pulling on, and storage galore thru multiple pockets. The venting seems to be good, although it's mesh gear for me come warm temps. I still don't have a Gerbings jacket liner yet, have to find some money to order a new one. Sorry for the length, but HTH.

Hi Eric,
I have the Aerostich jacket liner...and I have a couple of riding buddires with the Gerbings. I think the Aerostich with the full arms and neck is very comfy, but it's also a bit thicker and bulkier than the Gb's. I can't fit it under my normal riding jacket. Since I already had a slightly large leather jacket it's not a big deal. The Gb's that I've seen are thinner and seem to fit a little better...at least in my size...Make sure you try them both on with the jacket you want to use!

Charlie...

You might think about going with the Darien separate jacket and pants. The roadcrafter will fit snug, perhaps limiting the amount of layers you wear. A friend of mine has the Roadcrafter and wishes he had the Darien jacket and pants. I have them and love them. You pay A LOT for them, but they are built very well.

I also bought the windproof heated liner that zips into the jacket. I am not completely sold on the liner. I really don't get cold in it, but I just don't feel a lot of warmth either. I think they recognized a deficiency here as they now have some sort of blader device that you pump with air that puts the heating elements next to you chest. The liner is very high quality however, and I don't always plug it in unless it is in the 30s or lower.

One thing I did was I bought a large liner and an extra large jacket. The smaller liner fits snugger which should increase the warmth factor.

Again, I love my Darien Jacket. Its also reasonably cool in the summer with the sleeves, and vents unzipped.
